Woah, I made a website!

Hi, everybody!

It took me long enough, but I’ve finally made a website! I can’t believe I started working on this back in January. I let the process unfold slowly, digesting each version, scrapping what didn’t feel right, and trying again. I tend to be pretty hypercritical of myself, often to a fault (which is also why I still haven’t released any solo music). But with each attempt I scrapped, I felt a little closer to something that felt like me.

If there's one thing I’ve learned, it’s that when I’m not being true to myself, it shows, and it feels off. That’s why I held this website to such a high standard. I wanted it to be an honest reflection of who I am right now, not just professionally, but personally.

Why I Started This Blog

That desire for authenticity is also what led me to create this blog. I wanted a space where I could ramble a bit, share thoughts, experiences, and inspirations. Maybe someone connects with something I write and reaches out to collaborate, or even just to chat.

After all, we’re all just human beings walking through life, carrying our struggles. Having a healthy creative outlet helps keep us grounded. For me, I hope this blog becomes one of those outlets.

I plan to keep each post tied in some way to the work I’ve been doing, or to something that’s been inspiring me. I want to get my thoughts out of my head and onto a page, rather than letting them drift off and disappear in the back of my mind.

Chicago, Food, and Community

Another piece of this blog will be dedicated to something else that matters a lot to me: Chicago. I’m borrowing a page from Dennis Lee (of The Party Cut and Food Is Stupid) and ending each post with a shoutout to a favorite local restaurant.

Chicago has shaped me in so many ways, and I want to give a little back by highlighting the places that bring me joy. Alongside that, I’ll also include some upcoming events or concerts in the area, partly to support the scene, and partly to connect anyone reading this to the community that’s helped me build a career in audio.

What's Next for the Site

This is just version 1.0 of the site. I already have plans to add more pages to showcase other kinds of work I’m involved in, but for now, it made the most sense to focus on post-production. It’s been my main source of income for the past two years, and more importantly, it’s the work I’m most passionate about right now.

I also have a few exciting projects in the works that I’m very eager to share…but they’re not ready yet. So until then, hang back, enjoy the ride, and check this blog for updates at every proverbial stop.

If you have feedback or ideas, feel free to message me through my contact page. I’ll do my best to implement anything that makes sense. Growth is the whole point; if I weren’t learning and evolving, I’d be doing a disservice to the creative engineer in me.

Food Pick: Coluta's Pizza
📍 3239 N Harlem Ave. Chicago, IL 60634
ree

Coluta’s is a low-key, hole-in-the-wall pizza joint on the northwest edge of the city, right off Belmont and Harlem. I chose it for my first recommendation because it holds some of my earliest Chicago memories. Whether visiting family nearby or cruising around with my dad, Coluta’s has been a constant.

Their food is affordable, delicious, and made with impressively fresh ingredients, many of them sourced locally. (For example, they get their sausage from Nottoli & Son just down the road on Belmont.) And if you’re not in the mood for pizza, they’ve also got killer subs and pasta dinners, all at prices that won’t destroy a touring musician’s budget. This place is pure comfort to me, both for the nostalgia and the quality.

Event Spotlight: Punk Show at Cole's Bar
📍 2338 N Milwaukee Ave. Chicago, IL 60647
📅 Thursday, July 17, 2025

If you’re free Thursday night and in the mood for some high-energy punk, head to Cole’s for a stacked lineup featuring Milkswarm, Daundry, and Paper Hotel. I’m a little biased, but I love the Milkswarm fellas, tight musicianship, tons of energy, and genuinely great people.

This might be one of their last shows for a while, so don’t sleep on it. Grab your ticket [HERE].

Thanks for being here.
